Hangzhou strengthens Chinese mainland network
Emirates has launched its new daily service to Hangzhou, marking its fifth gateway in the Chinese mainland. This follows the recent addition of Shenzhen, underscoring the airline’s rapid network growth in the region.
Flight EK310 arrived at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport to a warm welcome from local dignitaries and aviation partners. Passengers received commemorative gifts, including certificates and Chinese tea sets, celebrating the occasion. On board were travellers from across Emirates’ global network, along with a VIP delegation and members of the international media.
A milestone for Emirates in China
Emirates’ senior management highlighted that China has become one of the world’s most dynamic aviation markets. Adding two new gateways within a month reflects the airline’s strong commitment to the Chinese mainland. The new route also supports its broader East and Southeast Asia growth strategy, connecting people, businesses, and economies more effectively.
Optimised connections for global travellers
Operated by a Boeing 777-300ER, the Dubai–Hangzhou service is timed for smooth transfers from 40 European destinations, 21 in Africa, 13 in the Middle East, and major cities in the Americas. Passengers can also connect from Hangzhou to destinations such as Istanbul, Barcelona, Cairo, and Johannesburg via Dubai.
Boosting cargo and trade opportunities
The Boeing 777-300ER offers up to 16 tonnes of cargo capacity per flight. This supports the transport of high-value goods such as e-commerce products, pharmaceuticals, and smart devices. Hangzhou, a hub for cross-border e-commerce, benefits from Emirates SkyCargo’s global reach, enabling faster delivery to markets in the Middle East, Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.
Hangzhou expands premium services
Emirates now serves Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou with 49 weekly flights. In Hangzhou, First and Business Class passengers can enjoy the airline’s chauffeur-drive service within an 80-kilometre radius of the airport. This premium offering extends to over 70 cities worldwide.
Strengthening China–Middle East ties
With Hangzhou as its latest gateway, Emirates is building a stronger air corridor for trade, tourism, and digital exchange between China and the Middle East. The route supports Chinese brands in reaching a global audience and gives international travellers greater access to one of China’s most innovative tech hubs.
